Aug. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Breathe N Flow Yoga has taken its focus to the water and has joined forces with the local non-profit organization Operation SPLASH.  Operation SPLASH (STOP POLLUTING, LITTERING AND SAVE HARBORS) is a non- profit, all volunteer organization of over 1,000 members all with the same mission, to improve the quality of life along the Long Island shores. Operation SPLASH was established in 1990 in Freeport, NY.  Breathe N Flow Yoga quickly learned about the organizations great efforts through fellow students and Operation SPLASH members, and wanted to somehow help this selfless group of volunteers.  Breathe N Flow Yoga took action with what they know best, Yoga!  They added Operation SPLASH to their Community Yoga donation-based class rotation.  These classes are held at the tranquil Freeport studio every Friday afternoon at 4pm, and studio members and non-members alike donate what they can, and then take part in a Vinyasa flow yoga class.  Breathe N Flow Yoga then collects and donates the proceeds monthly to one of three different non-profit organizations.

Breathe N Flow Yoga has always wanted to share the gift of yoga and give back to the community.  Community Yoga donation-based classes allow the studio to generate donations on a weekly basis and share proceeds amongst their favorite charities; The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation http://www.firehero.org, Flying Frogs Yoga Project http://www.flyingfrogsyoga.org, and most recently, Operation SPLASH http://operationsplash.net.  Breathe N Flow Yoga is fortunate enough to have a great family of yoga teachers willing to join the efforts and donate their time and skill each week to teach these Community Yoga classes.  Community Yoga brings instructors together to give back in their own personal way, and also allows budget restricted students to explore Yoga and pay only what they can afford.  Breathe N Flow Yoga strives to remain active within the community, and volunteering and donating to Operation SPLASH has been a great way to work with and help like-minded, caring people, as well as help make our local waterways safer and cleaner for human and marine life.

Breathe N Flow Yoga studio family members are also active members of Operation SPLASH, with owner Manny and his son Nicholas volunteering their time assisting in cleanups throughout the summer.  They have enjoyed their time assisting Capt. Don, a Breathe N Flow Yoga member and First Vice President and Environmental Educator for the Freeport based Operation SPLASH. Capt. Don works daily to encourage community involvement to help clean our harbors.

“I feel a personal family connection with this organization; it’s very welcoming to all types of volunteers and its kid friendly!  It’s important to me to keep that delicate balance of the cycle of life, healthy mind, body, and community.  I think that in itself helps create a great connection between the organization and the studio,” said owner Manny about his personal experience with Operation SPLASH.

Breathe N Flow Yoga hopes that with their efforts they are able to set a good example for the families throughout Freeport and neighboring communities as well as increase awareness throughout the yoga community.  Breathe N Flow Yoga believes that getting involved, being environmentally conscious, and asking questions are the first steps towards a healthier and cleaner tomorrow.  Breathe N Flow Yoga strives to spread the word about Operation SPLASH and their efforts, and educate all students about the awful effects of garbage in and around our waterways, and what they can do to make a difference.  Operation SPLASH is a great organization for volunteers of all ages because it is an inexpensive solution to water front pollution through community involvement and individual participation.  Operation SPLASH holds meetings the first Tuesday of every month at the Freeport Recreational Center and is always encouraging new volunteers.
Breathe N Flow yoga is a family owned and run studio established in August 2010. Breathe N Flow Yoga studio’s vision is to offer Yoga to the community while creating an environment that is welcoming to everyone.  Through Yoga, Breathe N Flow Yoga believes you find peace, joy, and balance in your life.
