Sussex tree grower helps people spread the cost of Christmas

A Sussex Christmas tree farmer has launched a ‘lay away’ style service which means customers can start paying for their festive firs in the summer.
Aug. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Clive Collins, who owns Catsfield Christmas Tree Farm, near Battle, came up with the idea to help families budget and spread the cost of their tree. Customers can start paying towards their tree in August and make their final payment when they collect their tree or order it on-line in December – also, if there are shortages this year, it means they are guaranteed a tree. Clive believes he is the first Christmas tree grower in the UK for offer this service.

“Christmas trees are becoming increasingly expensive and I hate the idea that some families may have to do without a nice tree this year because there are so many other expenses and they are strapped for cash.

“A good-quality, six-foot Sussex fir will cost around £50 which is a lot of money to pay out at once. We’re offering people the chance to pay £12.50 a month starting in August and spread the cost,” Clive explained.

Catsfield Christmas Tree Farm is a long-established grower and retailer based in Catsfield, East Sussex.  It has been a member of the British Christmas Tree Growers’ Association since 1994 and has been growing and supplying Christmas trees for over 20 years.
