Follow on Google News | GFT consolidates its international recognition of quality with the renewal of CMMI level 3This assessment highlights the excellent risk management at GFT
By: PR Savvy GFT has renewed its level 3 maturity, which it had previously obtained in 2008, continuing its ongoing improvement of quality methods and processes. The company has been using this CMMI model as the basis of its methodology since 2003, which was when the Spanish sections of the GFT Group obtained the second level of CMM (predecessor of the current CMMI). This CMMI level 3 renewal confirms that the developmental methodology used by GFT, which is in a process of ongoing improvement, meets the requirements of the model, and that it is being applied efficiently in all of the company's projects. To this end, all of the process areas were evaluated for this level, taking into consideration aspects such as the planning and monitoring of projects, risk management, requirement development, product integration, verification and validation, configuration management, the use of metrics and staff training. The evaluation carried out covers all of the centres and delivery units of the GFT Group involved in the Global Delivery Model strategy. This GFT management model provides our clients with the required service in the right place, given that it allows us to assign the most suitable expert for the requirements of each project, regardless of their location, while a local expert, who is close to the client, coordinates the entire process. As this model is based on in-house methodology derived from CMMI level 3, it ensures GFT’s clients receive consistent and efficient quality. One of the notable aspects of the methodology used by GFT, considered best practice in the recent evaluation, is the way the company handles risk management, which is based on early detection and monitoring of risks throughout the entire life cycle of a given project. The involvement of all areas and levels of the organisation allows us to ensure that risks do not become problems, guaranteeing our clients greater predictability of the results to be obtained in each project. For Manuel Urban, Chief Operational Risk & Quality Officer for the GFT Group, “the renewal of this third level of CMMI maturity is yet further recognition of GFT's firm commitment to ongoing improvement of the quality of our project development, based on the correct use of the work processes that make up our methodology” End
