New Publishing Deal Brings a Family’s Amazing Journey Through IVF and Bankruptcy to Life

Trudie and Lloyd Thompson have an incredible story to tell; 12 long years of heart breaking IVF therapy ending in bankruptcy. And now, CGW Publishing are helping them bring that story to life in their first book, Dreams Do Come True.

Aug. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Trudie and Lloyd Thompson’s dream was nothing unusual; start a family and provide a secure home for them to grow up in. But that dream was shattered, first by the news from doctors that Trudie and Lloyd could not conceive a child, and then by personal bankruptcy during the global financial crisis.

With appearances in the local and national press and on local radio, the Thompsons’ also featured in Granada Television’s ‘Better Homes’ series, where the British celebrity Carol Vorderman came to their aid with a home makeover, making them local celebrities for a while and giving them hope that they could, as a family, make it through their darkest times.

Throughout all of these trials, which would have stopped most people long ago, Trudie and Lloyd are ever optimistic about the future.

“When you’re been through what we’ve been through, you just know that the only way is up”, says Trudie.

Their biggest challenge of all was facing up to the possibility that they might never have children. Under the care of one of the world’s foremost IVF specialists, Professor Brian Lieberman, they were told to consider adoption as an alternative to their own family. Yet Trudie and Lloyd somehow found the motivation to carry on.

During the economic crisis of the last three years, Trudie and Lloyd’s financial security was threatened too, as the collapse of banks and other financial services providers took their toll and Lloyd found himself, standing in court, facing bankruptcy.

“I felt that I had let my family down, not protected them. As a man, my role is to provide for my family, and I felt that I had failed to do that. Their love and support kept me going, and kept me strong”, says Lloyd.

This incredible story, with all of its twists and turns, now has the support of CGW Publishing and the new book, Dreams Do Come True, will be in the shops by the end of September.

Royalties from book sales will go to support the IVF hospital where Trudie and Lloyd spent 12 long years, through the Friends Of St Mary's charity.

Founder of CGW Publishing, Christopher Greenaway, says, “I was just amazed at Trudie and Lloyd’s energy and passion for life. After all they have been through, I just don’t know where they get their boundless optimism from, yet they found a way to fight back against everything that life threw at them. Readers will no doubt want to know if the story has a happy ending; if, after all that time, the IVF finally worked. Well, you’ll have to read the book to find out.”

This uplifting personal journey, full of genuine insights into the worlds of fertility treatments and financial services, is told from a unique and personal perspective.

“Dreams Do Come True: The Amazing Story of One Family's Triumph over IVF and Bankruptcy” is published by CGW Publishing, ISBN 978-1-9082930-8-4, priced at £10.95
