Follow on Google News | Filmmakers to use Minnesota talent & crew to produce new feature thriller set to shoot in MinnesotaProducers will call on Minnesota talent and crew to produce "Crowing Lakes". The talented production team, all with Minnesota ties, developed the feature thriller “Crowing Lakes” and plan to shoot the film in Minnesota and North Dakota.
By: Crowing Lakes, LLC. and SolCo Entertainment Crowing Lakes is a smart thriller set on the lakes deep within the woods of Northern Minnesota. It is the story of a group of young friends that head out to a winter lake resort to party through the weekend, but things take a deadly turn when they cross paths with an old Viking secret... that can't stay buried. http://www.CrowingLakes.com The Minnesota-backdrop will provide the look and feel that the team is seeking. “Minnesota has so much to offer. There should be more films produced here, in our opinion, and we want to help make that happen.” says Devin Halden the film’s producer. “There is a gorgeous winter wonderland up here that Hollywood hardly takes advantage of. The evergreens, the bare trees -- an endless sea of branches creating an impenetrable wall that could hide anything -- and of course the frozen lakes; all together these elements will help evoke the range of emotions we want the audience to experience with us”, adds director Roberto Lequeux. The producers of Crowing Lakes are aiming to keep this project a local production to ensure the local economy, residents and businesses alike, can profit from this venture. For example, the production team is partnering with local businesses for product placement and co-op marketing opportunities. The producers are also looking to secure financing from Minnesota and North Dakota sources, be it a corporation or individual, in an effort to bring all profits from the film back to the states in which it was produced. “So much goes into the production and promotion of a successful film, especially one such as Crowing Lakes, that we want to do all that we can to ‘share the successes’ with those who contributed and put in their investment, whether it be money or sweat and tears into the film’s success.” says producer and Fargo-Moorhead native Michelle Lenhardt.
