South Jersey Staffing Firm Changes Name; Awards Scholarship to Shawnee High School Graduate

Aug. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- MARLTON, N.J. – The South Jersey staffing firm formerly known as Perry Temps announces it has changed its name to Perry Resources as it celebrates its 25th Anniversary in the Delaware Valley. The new name reflects the company’s expanded services and offerings beyond temporary placements.

The company has also presented its 6th Annual Scholarship Award to Ryan Scheffler, a Notre Dame-bound graduate of Shawnee High School in Medford.

Perry Resources has been providing not just temporary staff, but temp-to-permanent and full-time permanent placements for many years. The company name change became effective on July 11.

“We wanted to better communicate to our clients the full range of employment solutions Perry Resources can help them with,” said David Weiss, director of Business Development, “services that we’ve actually been offering for quite some time. Ryan Scheffler, 18, received a $1,000 scholarship check. A lacrosse player, a National Honor Society student, and executive leader in several clubs at Shawnee, he plans to study pre-law at Notre Dame.

Scheffler, selected from among 15 applicants this year, was chosen based on his grades/academic achievement, activities, community involvement, leadership, and an essay. He was chosen by the Scholarship Selection Committee, comprised of Human Resources professionals in the area. This year’s judges were Danielle Roberto of Sleep Care Centers in Mount Laurel, N.J., Aaron Boucher of Renaissance Marble and Granite in Blackwood, N.J., and Larry Sokolowski of U.S. Cold Storage in Voorhees, N.J.

“Ryan stood out among a very strong field of applicants this year,” said Weiss. “He exhibits all the qualities we’d hope to see in our future business and community leaders. Perry Resources is very happy to recognize him with this scholarship.”
