Hunter Willis, 14, has a plan to fix one of the most ravaged cities in this recession, Detroit

Aug. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Hunter Willis is a teen from Boston, Massachusetts who is going to have his childhood marked by The Great Recession. This recession has destroyed one of the cities where his family lives, Detroit. For a while after the initial recession, Hunter didn’t have any reason to help fix Detroit, but finally something clicked and he got the inspiration for Detroit Connection, a company that creates relations from a Detroit business to another small business.



“’Charity starts at home’ is a saying that many people know,” states Hunter, “but not many people practice now. Detroit Connection wants to help rebuild Detroit while other companies make a profit. By partnering companies in Detroit, they can service their country by rejuvenating the economy in Detroit while making a profit.”



The quality of production in Detroit competes with many other cities that mass-produce anything. The fact that Detroit got ravaged in the recession means that a company outside of Detroit has a gold mine accessible to them. Detroit’s quality is high, while prices are extremely low. Detroit Connection will help any company who is interested in making money in Detroit grow.



Detroit Connection is also in the business of service to their community. The fact that Hunter realized the potential for a city with no hope is astonishing. Detroit currently is a mess and is just getting worse ever minute nothing happens. As time went on, Hunter was getting older and more involved in his community. While thinking of a way to make money, his “click” moment happened. Detroit is a city where is grandparents and cousins live. His dad is also from there, so when the car industry crashed, he was heartbroken. He needed a way to help, and Detroit Connection is the answer.

About Detroit Connection: Hunter Willis’ childhood has been brutally scarred by the poor actions of government and the economic mess. After listening over and over about how one will only survive if they have money, Hunter realized that he needed a business. Traditionally, Hunter isn’t one of those kids who build a lemonade stand and sell it for a dollar a cup; he has bigger dreams.

After the idea for Detroit Connection was conceived, Brandon Frame, Hunter’s dorm parent at The Fessenden School told him to connect to Shonika Proctor. Shonika is someone who helps form teens’ ideas to reality. Detroit Connection is all about linking business to this ravaged city. Hunter will rebuild the economy by re-employing the locals in Metro and Greater Detroit. Hunter wants to create the business cycle in Detroit again so he can take the city where half his family lives back to power.
