Aug. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- The FREE 2011 Lake Arrowhead Village Summer Concert Series continues this weekend, Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6 on Center Stage. Underwritten by the Lake Arrowhead Village, the Village Merchants Association, Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc., KOLA 99.9 FM, the Rim of the World Historical Society and Ontario Reign, the concert lineup will showcase two great tribute bands.

“Both of the bands on tap for this weekend are popular tributes,” says Director of Marketing for Lake Arrowhead Village Rebecca Smith. “The Red Not Chili Peppers play Red Hot Chili Peppers’ music and Queen Nation performs all of the best of Queen. Come early and set up a set on the green. You can shop while you wait for the concerts to start.”

Friday, August 5 at 6:30 p.m. The Red Not Chili Peppers
The Red Not Chili Peppers were nominated for “Best Tribute” at the 2010 San Diego Musical Awards and selected for the 2011 Tribute Palooza, which brought together the “eight top tribute bands in the world.” The Red Not Chili Peppers exist to recreate the passion and energy of the original funk rock superstars. The group’s sincere devotion to the classic Chili Pepper sound keeps fans coming back for more. And with the ability to cover more than two decades of hits, every show provides a unique experience.

Saturday, August 6 at 6:30 Queen Nation
Few would argue that the legendary band Queen ranks among the most powerful and iconic groups in rock history. With the goal of carrying the musical torch and paying homage to Queen and the late Freddie Mercury, Queen Nation was formed in 2004. Their live 90-minute production recreates the image, sound and stage persona of vintage Queen, delighting audiences with hits like “We Will Rock You,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Are the Champions,” and “Another One Bites the Dust.”

Continuing weekend nights and special holiday dates through Labor Day on Monday, September 5, the Summer Concert Series features popular solo artists such as Leif Garrett and renowned groups like Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, the Jay Blues Band, Venice, Superlark, Time Bomb, Mirage Groove and Martha Davis & the Motels. Talented tribute bands will include Heart Brigade, the Walking Phoenixes, a Chicago tribute band called Colour My World and an Aerosmith Tribute band, Aeromyth.

While festival seating for the concerts is free, tables can be reserved for $100 (for a full table/which seats up to 10) or $50 (for a half table, which seats up to 4). Also, event sponsorships are still available. For a comprehensive schedule, click here. Please be aware that performers are subject to change without notice.
