Powder Coatings Basics for Businesses and Consumers

Aug. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Westland, MI – July 27, 2011 – The differences between Powder Coating and traditional paint spraying are still a mystery to many businesses and consumers.  Anyone looking for answers to their questions should attend the “Powder Coating 101 Workshop” on August 9-10, 2011.

The Workshop is being hosted at Parker Ionics world headquarters in Westland and is being sponsored by the Powder Coating Institute of North America.  Parker Ionics is a leading manufacturer and worldwide supplier of advanced powder coating spray booths and powder coating spray guns and application equipment.

“The workshop covers all the basics of powder coating,” according to Parker Ionics President John Cole.  “We’re going to have industry experts from across the country making presentations and providing hands-on training in our facility.”

•   Powder selecting, testing and coating
•   Surface prep

•   Curing

“Even people who think they have an understanding of powder coating can benefit from this workshop.   New technology is allowing us to use powder coating differently and on new materials that we simply couldn’t do just a few years ago,” Cole explained.

Workshop participants will receive a 450 page manual that details all aspects of powder coating.  Participants will also have an opportunity to be tested and certified
