Aug. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) will make the short drive to Orange Park, FL to host the third annual HJGT junior golf tournament at Eagle Landing at Oakleaf Plantation August 20-21.  All previous trips to the prestigious Clyde Johnson designed golf course have been successful ones which have featured competitive golf for the junior golfers.  The tournaments title sponsor is the North Florida Golf Ball Company.  The North Florida Golf Ball Company is a golf ball reconditioning company based out of Jacksonville, FL which refurbishes previously used golf balls to their original state.

The last time the HJGT stopped at Eagle Landing at Oakleaf Plantation was August 14-15, 2010 for the Eagle Landing Jr. Classc.  In the event David Novakoski of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL posted a two day total score of +2 (73+73=146) to win the Boys 16-19 Division by one stroke.  This win was the only win for Novakoski in the 2010 season.  Novakoski posted five birdies, 26 pars, and shot 86.1% pars or better.  In the Girls 15-19 Division Jasmine Wade of Oldsmar, FL finished at +3 (74+73=147) to take home the first place hardware by five strokes over the second place finisher.  For Wade, it was her 3rd win of the year at the time.  Wade would eventually go on to win one more tournament in 2010 to finish with four HJGT wins.  In the tournament at Eagle Landing Wade lead the division in birdies with five, pars with 24, par four performance at 4.05, par five performance at 4.75, and most pars of better at 80.6%.

Junior golfers will compete over 36-holes of stroke play in one of five age divisions: Boys 15-19, Boys 13-14, Boys 10-12, Girls 14-18, or Girls 10-13. This event will be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS) and offer Florida Junior Tour (FJT) exemptions. For 2011, any first-time player who registers for the HJGT will be able to play in his or her first event for only $99! Also, any player who registers for a College Bound Membership with the HJGT will be able to play in his or her first tournament of 2011 for just $99! In conjunction with the $99 Promo, check out the new Player Rewards Program where current Basic Level Members can play in a future event for $99 as well by upgrading their membership. And remember, any HJGT player who refers a new player to the tour will receive 5 points which can be used to save on an upcoming tournament.

Eagle Landing at Oakleaf Plantation is one of four Clyde Johnson designed golf courses in the Jacksonville area.  The course which was constructed in 2006 serves as a semi-private club to golfers in the area.  Eagle Landing Golf Club features an open, links-style layout that wanders through tall groves of Southern pine and palmetto.  The course is situated in the center of the beautiful Oakleaf Plantation, and offers scenic landscape view of native wetlands and conservation areas.  The course forces players to take risks and every hole is a new challenge.
