July 31, 2011 - PRLog -- There have been complaints about the media that targets Black America. Some of the media giants in Black America have been bought by larger media companies that are not Black American. Others promote messages that are not positive influences. Others seem to be concerned with things other than the target of their media, which seems to be young people.

Emmanuel Brown published I Am Royalty: Profiles In Black History Volume 2 which highlights 38 positive stories about Black American Men and Women. I Am Royalty: Profiles In Black History  Volume 2 is the 2nd publication that was released in the I Am Royalty: Profiles In Black History Series. This book is part of a series of biographical anthologies that are compiled to serve as bridges throughout many different communities. The purposes of these bridges are to close gaps that are left in our communities and to create productive routes for the young people who live within them.

Emmanuel understands the power of the voice and the strength that the media has in Black American communities. He does not believe in debating with these media giants because of messages that he disagrees with. He believes that the best way to combat these messages or images is to provide the opposite on a consistent basis.

Through Label Me Royalty and I Am Royalty: Profiles In Black History, Emmanuel is attempting to overshadow the negative stories and images that plagues Black American communities with story that provide positive vision. Emmanuel says that "some of our young people see so many negative visions that they can not see, or do not recognize, the positive images that exist." He also states that "Black American Men and Women have the power to change this by speaking up or by promoting the positive so much that we begin to see it just as much, if not more than, the negative things that we allow to hold roles of power in our communities."

He believes that I Am Royalty: Profiles In Black History will gain influence as it is distributed through neighborhoods, schools and churches by the people that these places serve. He also believes that the books are open shows of unity because of the way that they are made and distributed. Emmanuel says that "we should support those who sopport us, by giving them the same type of power that we are currently those that support our self-destruction."

38 Black/African-American Men and Women have come together to create Volume 2 of I Am Royalty: Profiles In Black History. It includes the stories of, Michael Conliffe, Beverly Black Johnson, Allysha Hamber, Tiffany A. Flowers, Patricia Neely-Dorsey, Angelique Goliday, Paulette Harper-Johnson, Renita M Walker, Lance Scurvin, Tina Michelle Boursiquot, Jennifer Price, Brandy Adamson, Debra Ann Brown-Davis, Henry Campbell, Moreen Forte', Peggi Trusty, Tiffany Willis, Diana Johnson-Gray, James Bird Guess, Anna Black, Fiordaliza Charles, Glenda A. Wallace, Richard C. Jones, Gwendolyn King, Jacqueline Tyecise McDuffie, Shrisma Smith, Tasonn Haynes, Takesha Howard, Sheila L. Jackson, Barbara Grovner, Sharon Newkirk Wells, Hernando Flowers, Sheniqua Wallace, Shemeiah “Mia” Bonds, Taneka Dorch, Charron Monaye and Emmanuel Brown.

The mission of I Am Royalty: Profiles In Black History is to take positive stories into places that need positive light and to spread these lights into some of darkest areas. Emmanuel wants to share our stories throughout schools, churches, community groups, and throughout the streets to begin recruiting our youth for productive activities.

Emmanuel has collaborated with Black/African-American Men and Women that represent different backgrounds, upbringings, fields of business, and options (for the future) that can be followed.

This book is available at LabelMeRoyalty.com and on Amazon. However, the focus of the sales is young people. Emmanuel has decided to market the books through LabelMeRoyalty.com and to utilize the media outlets that are owned by Black Americans to market this project. Emmanuel says: "More positive stories of Black American should be distributed through our magazines, our radio and our television; so a part the sales will be focused through these outlets.

By supporting these media outlets we can reach Black American groups, organizations and churches that gather information through from these sources. This also shares inspiration, hope and unity with the communities that are trying to be reached.

He is currently administering a letter writing campaign that is focused on reaching the Black owned media to thank them for providing stories to the community and to offer them positive content to distribute that comes from the 100+ people that have contributed to the 3 volumes that have been published.

Emmanuel hopes that this campaign will give him the support of organizations like the National Pan-Hellenic Council and the Greek organizations that it is comprised of, the black churches and the National Black Church Initiative, black schools, black business people, black teachers, black grass roots organizations."

Emmanuel say "this project is bigger than me and I know that I can not do it alone, but I can keep contacting people to ask for them to participate. Everyone does not ignore my messages and everyone does not say "NO this is not for me."" He say that the rejections are motivating enough to remember that role models are not present and that those who step up deserve the support of the people.

He closes by saying that "children are watching us and they absorb the characteristics that stand out. We can not attack their culture and expect them to accept it, we have to provide them options. Telling them that We Are Royalty and that they should say Label Me Royalty so much that they hear these messages more than the negative ones is a great start, but only a beginning."
