Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation Hosts Weight Loss Surgery Information Session in Novato

July 29, 2011 - PRLog -- (San Francisco, August 16, 2011) — Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation will host a weight loss surgery informational seminar and support group on August 20, 2011 at Novato Community Hospital. This seminar will provide a supportive environment for individuals interested in learning about weight loss surgery and those seeking support following surgery. Part of a monthly series held in San Francisco and Marin, the seminar will be held:

Led by Gregg Jossart, MD, director of Sutter Pacific’s laparoscopic gastrointestinal, bariatric and endocrine surgery program, the seminar provides an overview of the different types of surgical procedures available and what to expect with each. This venue provides a unique opportunity for individuals to have questions answered directly by a board-certified bariatric surgeon while finding support among others considering weight loss surgery and from those who've already undergone surgery.

“This is an opportunity for men and women to explore if weight loss surgery is the right next step for them and connect with others who have been there,” says Dr. Jossart, who also serves as director for California Pacific Medical Center’s minimally invasive surgery program. “Our group meetings offer a forum to find out what to expect from weight loss surgery and how it can help individuals reach their goal weight when other strategies have failed.”
