Young entrepreneur scoops national award!

July 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Adam Bradford, 18, from Sheffield is one of Yorkshire's youngest entrepreneurs, who has graduated from a year's study at Yorkshire and the Humber's first Peter Jones Enterprise Academy at The Sheffield College.

Adam has previously achieved 27 A*-C GCSEs including 6 A* and 6 A grades. At the enterprise academy Adam has gained two A* grades in the course, the highest grades available for the qualification. Through the course, students work on real business challenges and learn the mindset and skills that modern businesses require. On the Level 3 qualification, they develop a business, launch it as a micro business and then run it for at least four months of the course. Adam launched his business 'UnITe Computing,' a business-focused IT consultancy, with the support of 'Reggae Reggae sauce' entrepreneur Levi Roots at Sheffield City College in June 2011.

Earlier this month Adam pitched to a panel of judges comprising of Peter Jones CBE, founder of the Enterprise Academy, and directors of the Academy. Adam pitched for the prestigious national Entrepreneur of the Year award. Upon graduating was presented with the National Ambassador of the Year Award by Peter Jones, the famous Dragon's Den entrepreneur. Adam actively promotes young people and encourages enterprise start-up across the country, through his involvement in youth councils and through his services as a guest speaker.

Upon being awarded the new title by Peter Jones, Adam said: 'This is truly amazing. After a gruelling panel interview I am honoured to have received this award and this really does reinforce my commitment to enterprise, helping young people to reach their potential. I believe that young people are the engine of the new economy and I am thrilled to be able to take this role to help further its growth, equipping students with enterprise skills through the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.'

Adam will now continue his work in enterprise and take up the role of Ambassador along with two other Ambassadors in the UK who were given the award at the graduation ceremony last week. The business Adam started as part of the Academy course now has numerous clients and is operating internationally.

Adam believes that the enterprise course has played a vital role in his business' success: 'The Academy is the only place to be if you want to fast-track into the world of business and setup your own successful company as a young budding entrepreneur. My success is the perfect testament to this and I can't wait to encourage others to follow in my footsteps!'
