July 28, 2011 - PRLog -- When Anbritt Stengele was a competitive figure skater she dreamed of one day competing in the Olympic Games. A decade later she is planning an Olympics trip for the sixth time, not as an athlete, but as a tour operator with her company Sports Traveler, a sports tourism company based in Chicago. The company specializes in trips to spectator sports around the world and the 2012 London Olympic Games will be the sixth Olympic trip for the 11-year-old company.

“When I started this company in 2000, I never intended to offer trips to the Olympics, but in 2002, I received a request from a client to assist in making their arrangements to the Salt Lake City Games. Now we host clientele from all over the globe. In Beijing (in 2008) we hosted over 350 people from over a dozen nations”.

For the 2012 Olympic Games in London the company is offering clients hotel and lodging options ranging from 3-star to 5-star properties as well as inclusive travel packages including ground transportation and hospitality. Travelers will also be able to book airfare to London through the company starting in September.

Additionally, activities including golf trips to famed courses in Ireland and sightseeing trips to France are available as pre and post-Games side trips. The company is even offering those Olympics fans traveling with children a special excursion to Scotland to ride the 'Hogwarts Express' train as seen in the 'Harry Potter' films.

“Attending the Olympics is the dream of every athlete, but I feel fortunate to have been a part of the Olympic Experience multiple times as both a fan and a tour leader,” said Stengele. She added, “plus it’s a lot less nerve racking to watch the events as a spectator than to compete as an athlete!”
