FinnFest 2011 Unveils New Youth Program

July 28, 2011 - PRLog -- For the first time in FinnFest history, the organizers of FinnFest 2011 will unveil an exciting program designed for the youth audience. The versatile program will include a skateboarding show by world-famous Finnish skateboarder, Arto Saari, a fashion show exhibiting the most popular Finnish youth fashion labels, food demonstrations, rockin’ hair-styling with a souvenir photo opportunity and much more.

“We are excited to introduce an exciting new program of youth activities and events at this year’s FinnFest,” said Annina Lukiini-Johnson, FinnFest 2011 Project Director. “To ensure that every member of the family has a good time, we will be offering a jam-packed schedule of activities and events geared toward the youth audience.”

A sampling of FinnFest 2011 Youth Program highlights include:

•   Skateboarding Demonstration (Saturday, August 13 at 1 p.m.) – Skateboarding demonstration and meet-and-greet with professional Finnish skateboarders, Arto Saari and Marius Syvänen;
•   Youth Fashion Show (Sunday, August 14 at 11:30 a.m.) – Runway show featuring the latest fashion from up-and-coming and established Finnish designers;
•   Photo Booth (Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14) – Youth attendees will get to dress up in leather, studs and big hair and get their photo taken to take home as a digital souvenir;
•   Youth Room – Showcasing the latest and most exciting Finnish console and PC games;
•   Moving Screenings – Finnish movies and TV shows will be shown in the Youth Room daily;
•   Food Demonstrations – Youth attendees will learn how to make licorice ice cream and delicious super smoothies.
