July 28, 2011 - PRLog -- These would include my personal favourites.But you would love to visit these places.We would start with Raju's Guest House,close to Kullu manali.The place is ideally located,very close to the Great Himalayan National Park.To reach the place you have to cross the river in a dangling metal basket.It feels like true adventure.
                         The guest house has 4 rooms on the lower floor .The upper floor has a nice open air sitting area,a cosy living room with a fireplace,small dining area and a library with a collection of books and travel magazines.This is the best portion of the guesthouse.One can laze around reading,warming up around the fireplace or just relax doing nothing.
                          The rooms are large and are built with pure pinewood,which gives the place a warm,rustic feel,which is most appropriate for its location.It is a perfect getaway with great views of Tirthan river.In front of the residential area lies the family orchard's,where you can find numerous apple and cherry trees.You can sample fresh fruits from the orchads.Between the guesthouse and the orchads are couple of firepits with seating around them.This is the place where you can hang around in the evenings and meet fun loving ,like minded people.
                          The food is the best part of the stay.Lata jee,Raju's wife is a fantastic cook.They serve you the best of omelets served with home baked breads with english style jams  with chunks of fruits,continental pastas,roasted chicken,cutlets,fresh trout for fish lovers.Deserts are great.Caramal custard,home made jelly,icecreams etc.
                          Raju runs this place more like a homestay rather than a commercial retreat.They don't bother to advertise or even put signboards.The owners care about the surroundings and are borthered about the ill effects of modern devlopment in such naturally beautiful areas.
                          Be it the serene,offbeat location,the sound of river Tirthan gushing past,or lata jee's great recipes each and every aspect of Raju's homestay make it a true getaway.
