Colorado Resort Giving Away Family Reunion Vacation

ESTES PARK, Colo.- YMCA of the Rockies works to help families reconnect through outdoor recreation and technology-free vacations based in the mountains of Colorado. To get families started, YMCA of the Rockies is announcing a Family Reunion Contest with the winning family receiving a reunion vacation for up to 30 family members.

The winning family will receive ten lodge rooms for two nights at the YMCA of the Rockies’ property of their choice, daily breakfast, family programs such as outdoor movies and family carnivals, and activities such as mini golf, swimming, tennis, guided hikes, and roller skating.

To enter email: name, address, telephone number, email address, and a brief statement, 30 words or less, about why you’d like to hold your family reunion at YMCA of the Rockies to info@ymcarockies.org.  The contest ends August 31, 2011, with the winners announced on September 2, 2011.

To help families and event coordinators with the family reunion planning process, YMCA of the Rockies has created Family Reunion University. This weekend-long program offers classes in everything from customizing programming for families to sorting out logistics and budgeting. Family Reunion University weekends are scheduled for October 21-23, 2011 at Snow Mountain Ranch and November 4-6, 2011 at Estes Park Center. The past popularity of this program has resulted in an additional weekend at Estes Park Center February 24-26, 2012.

YMCA of the Rockies operates two resort-style properties outside Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Estes Park Center, surrounded on three sides by Rocky Mountain National Park, is an 870 acre property with family activities ranging from guided hikes in the national park and outdoor volleyball to summer concerts and arts and crafts. Snow Mountain Ranch, nestled in the mountains near Winter Park, has over 5,100 acres complete with 60 miles of trails, recreation facilities such as an archery range, disc golf course, and Nordic Center, and family programs for all ages. Both properties offer multiple dining facilities and accommodation options including LEED certified lodges, cozy 2-4 bedroom cabins, expansive 6-8 bedroom vacation cabins, and a new yurt village.
