July 26, 2011 - PRLog -- The National Literacy Mission defines literacy as acquiring the skills of reading, writing and arithmetic and the ability to apply them to one's day-to-day life.

Rotary Club of Chennai Thiruvanmiyur , conducted Adult Literacy campaign at Thirupper village to enable villagers to read and write . The result the villagers self esteem has now gone up. No more Thumb Impressions they actually sign. We at Rotary Club of Chennai Thiruvanmiyur are proud and happy that today almost all adults in this tiny hamlet can read and write.
