New Travel Backpack Created to Help Travelers Fight Airline Baggage Fees

Co-founders Fred Perrotta and Jeremy Cohen were unable to find the perfect luggage for a backpacking trip through Central Europe in 2009.  They were disappointed by the backpacks that they purchased, so, after returning to the States, they began designing a bag specifically for travelers like themselves. The end result of their efforts is the Tortuga Travel Backpack 45.

Historically, travelers were forced to choose between hiking backpacks and wheeled luggage. Hiking backpacks are too large, disorganized, and unsafe, because they cannot be locked. The Tortuga is a carry-on that is divided into two front-loading, lockable compartments, solving the problems created by hiking bags. Unlike wheeled luggage, the Tortuga can be used over rough terrain and will never need to be dragged along with a broken wheel.
