Governor Sampath spoke about the twin priorities of Rotary International – Membership development and Rotary Foundation. Calling upon the scores of Rotarians in District 3230, Rtn Sampath urged each and every one to spread the word about Rotary and the positive impact the Rotary movement creates around the world. He also spoke about the importance of contributing to the Rotary Foundation and every small drop counts. Rtn Sampath led by example, and he had requested that no mementoes or flowers be given to him and the District officials; instead the club could forward this towards the TRF contributions!
Incoming President Rtn Gerard Pushpanathan urged all spouses and children of Rotarians to participate in Rotary, as the movement is all about Fellowship and service. Rtn Gerard, President of Chennai Thiruvanmiyur then reiterated that as Rotarians, he and his club members will “be the change that they wish to see in the world” and they would do this by “Reaching Within to Embrace Humanity,” which is the theme for the Rotary year 2011-12.
The well planned and executed event ended with the Vote of Thanks by Club Secretary Rtn Sriprakash followed by the National Anthem
