By: Luci McCulloch Since graduating from NIDA Di has had a busy and varied acting career working with major state companies as well as many commercial productions. Di is also a much sought after professional speaker with Claxton Speakers International. The course 'Presenting 1 & 2 For Camera' is divided into two terms with a one week break between Stages 1 & 2. Stage 1: Introduction to Presenting: The students will be introduced to and develop the Presenter's Necessary Skills, for example; short term memory, acting as reacting, circle of concentration, one to one communication, doing it for the cameraman, and walking and talking. Stage 2: Refining and Specialising: The students will concentrate on refining and specialising in one particular presenting style chosen by them from Stage 1. They will write and produce their own studio presented segments. Students will be given the file/footage of their segments to be used for showreel purposes. (Students can have their segments professionally edited by the Screenwise tutor for an additional fee). When: Wednesday Evenings, 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Location: Screenwise Studios, 84 - 86 Mary Street, Surry Hills, Sydney, NSW Commences: 3rd August Concludes: 26th October (1 week break between Stage 1 & 2) Another Screenwise acting course which starts soon and has limited places available is their Screenteens Term Classes which run for 8 weeks during school terms with no audition required. Screenteens is the hip happening film & TV training school for young adult actors who want to make a serious move in to the film & TV industry. For two hours on a Saturday come work with the professionals that can make your training mean something. If you're not having fun...you're not doing it right! Screenteens acting teachers are all professional actors with vast industry experience such as Jeremy Lindsay Taylor (Sea Patrol), Katherine Hicks (Rescue Special Ops), and Todd Lasance (Rescue, Home & Away, Underbelly, Cloud Street). Screenteens student photos are kept on file, and presented to Casting Consultants for consideration whenever there is a film or TV series being cast. Many of our Screenteens have auditioned and appeared in some of Australia's leading film & TV series such as; Home & Away, All Saints, The December Boys, H20, and Blue Water High. Due to Screenwise references, many students are now represented by some of Sydney's top acting agencies. Former Screenteen Ashleigh Cummings is currently starring in Tomorrow When the War Began.
