Christofle Launches New Champagne and Sabrage Website

July 19, 2011 (New York, NY):  From silver to Champagne, Christofle is taking luxury to new heights with an exciting new website - ChampagneSabrage.com. This website features Christofle’s newest luxury services focused solely on Champagne. Led by Christofle President and CEO Nicolas Krafft, these offerings include Champagne tastings and demonstrations, and classes teaching the art of Sabrage.

ChampagneSabrage.com is a reflection on taste, the brand’s commitment to excellence and also to the impressive knowledge acquired through its long and prestigious history. Through the website, clients are offered the opportunity not only to learn the history and evolution of Champagne, but also the art of Sabrage – the celebrated and dramatic technique used to open a bottle of sparkling wine with a saber.

There are three classes offered, ranging from the moderately-priced introductions to sabrage to more exclusive in-depth seminars.   Presented by Nicolas Krafft, the offerings include: Brut – a basic Sabrage training for 12 people (starting at $70 per person); Grand Cuvée - a personal Sabrage for each person, plus a 20 minute tutorial on Champagne for 4 to 10 people (staring at $150 per person); and VIP – a 2-hour master class on the history and evolution of Champagne for groups of 6 or 12 that includes a tasting of 5 fine Champagnes ($200 per person). Classes are offered wherever there are Christofle store locations. Please visit ChristofleUSA.com for more information.

Mr. Krafft holds an Advanced Certificate from Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). He has worked for Christofle since 2002, first as Managing Director for Asia-Pacific and later as President and CEO for the North American subsidiaries. Before Christofle, Mr. Krafft held the position of General Manager with AELIA Group from 1996-2002 specializing in alcohol, tobacco and gourmet foods. Mr. Krafft has worked in Europe, South East Asia, China and the United States. His extensive knowledge on Christofle, luxury markets and Champagne has been featured in many luxury publications such as French Morning, Newline, The Posh Report, Polo magazine, Imagine, and The Beacon Hills Times.

For almost two centuries, Christofle has been a leader in the art of silver and a proponent of innovation and design. From the very beginning, Charles Christofle realized that luxury was more than just a product; it was a lifestyle to be developed and perfected.  To this day, Christofle believes that a life style is a personal sensibility of the finer things in life –a highly cultivated taste in culture and a superior palate in food, wine, and, of course, Champagne.
