This workshop will give you inside information about how the industry is changing and what that means for you and maybe your pocketbook (it's a good thing!). You'll be armed with the options and tools you need to make your book a success—concrete information you can put into action immediately.

Publishing is changing and so are reader habits. You’ll learn how to stay relevant in today’s marketplace with low-cost to no-cost innovative ways to publish and market your message. This workshop will also help you plug into the new wave of social media and use it to your advantage, including combining it with traditional methods that let you keep your wallet in tact.

Presenter Debbie Elicksen is Canada’s Publishing Expert. She has helped guide authors and publishers through hands-on involvement, consulting, speaking and training, and step-by-step guides. She has edited, ghosted, and project managed over 100 books, including 10 of her own. Her bestselling Self-Publishing 101 (Self-Counsel Press – still available Self-Counsel and Amazon) and Book Publishing 101 (through Booklocker.com) have helped make several books come true. Elicksen was a sports writer covering the National Hockey League for over 20 years and currently writes for the Hockey Canada Alumni Association.
