21st Century Africa: Paving the way for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Join Phelps Stokes, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and its partners on this momentous program, which is paving the way for innovation and entrepreneurship.

July 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Phelps Stokes and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), in collaboration with the Government of Benin, Activos Culturales Afro (ACUA), Palmares Fundaçao, and The Songhai Center, are creating a platform for youth entrepreneurs engaged in different sectors from across the world to learn and share their experiences among youth participants who have the desire to expand their entrepreneurial, agricultural, technological and cultural knowledge.

As part of the Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) initiative, the Global Youth Innovation Workshop-Fair, which will be held from 10-13 October 2011, in Cotonou Benin, is an initiative that aims to contribute to the reduction of poverty among poor rural youth in Africa and the Americas through exposure to opportunities and business prospects, innovation and knowledge on replicable youth-successful models in small scale agri-business to enable them to create and engage in sustainable small scale agri-businesses.

Global Youth Innovation Workshop-Fair is designed to provide support to entrepreneurs and innovators, and create an atmosphere for information and knowledge exchange, to ultimately empower youth to pursue their career goals.

The selected distinguished participant benefits range from networking with fellow youth to linkages with business networks and interacting with many delegates including policy and decision-makers as well as development partners.  Participants are invited to apply directly online by visiting www.gyin.org.
