The Glebe's Premium Sports Lounge Hires a Mobile Marketing Expert to Attract New and Old Customers

With Bank St. under construction this summer, the MVP Lounge at 683 Bank St, despite advertising, has occasional slow nights. To help create a more even customer flow, the MVP Lounge hired a mobile marketing expert to increase their customer base.

July 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Ottawa, Ontario - The life-blood of any business is increasing its customer base and making sales. The MVP Lounge is doing well by providing customers with good food, friendly service, and having a good location in the heart of the Glebe. However, any business can do better, particularly with a large section of Bank St. under construction this summer slowing things down for all businesses located in this section.

Being open to new marketing concepts and new technology , Paul Lavoie, MVP Lounge Operating Partner, hired EDS Creative Marketing Services to created a “Text Messaging Campaign” where they will get old and new customers to text their Key Word; “MVP” to their Short Code: 54500 in exchange for a chance to win a $100 MVP Gift Card on August 1, 2011.  While on MVP Lounge’s Text List, these MVP VIP customers will receive other Special Deals to keep the MVP Lounge “Top-of-Mind” with them, thereby helping to bring them in on a slow day or night.  With one text message, the MVP Lounge can reach their entire list, whether 100 or 1,000.

Since almost everyone has a mobile phone with them24/7, and most modern mobile phones can send and receive SMS messages, text messaging is an effective way to communicate with  customers.  As well, most text messages are opened and acted upon within an hour of receipt.  In addition to this speed of response to a text message, response-rate metrics are easily obtained.  Text Messages also can go viral among “friends” or associates.  No other marketing tool is this timely, effective, and measureable!

Although “Text Message Marketing” is effective and cost effective, it should be used in conjunction with traditional marketing methods.  For example, the next time a business prints cards, flyers, or menus, etc., they would just include their ‘Text “Key Word” to “Short Code” offer’ because the more clients or customers they get on their Text List, the more effective their results.  If they plan to rent a billboard, they should include their ‘Text “Key Word” to “Short Code”offer’ on it.  Or, if they will be advertising on radio or TV, they should include their ‘Text Key Word” to “Short Code” offer’ there, as well.

Currently, Paul Lavoie, Operating Partner of the MVP Lounge, (http://www.TheMVPLounge.com) is working with Dr. Gene Shershen, Internet and Mobile Marketing Specialist, with EDS Creative Marketing Services (http://www.EDSCreativeMarketing.com) to build their SMS Message List for communicating with their VIP customers and promoting future Special Offers to them.

Based on his experience to date, Paul Lavoie, Operating Partner of the MVP Lounge would recommend that other local small business owners or managers interested in increasing their customer base consider utilizing Internet or Mobile Marketing Methods to augment their offline marketing efforts.
