Follow on Google News | Montana State offers online sport science graduate courses for Fall 2011Online graduate courses in Sport Psychology, Sport Nutrition and Sport Physiology are offered by Montana State University in Fall 2011.
By: MSU Extended University Sport Physiology (HHD 550) examines the human body's response to sport training and performance, including the muscular, neuromuscular, cardio-respiratory and endocrine systems, plus athletic training and sports conditioning. Sport Nutrition (HHD 551) covers popular ergogenic aids, nutritional recommendations for performance, fluid and electrolyte needs, and more. Sport Psychology (HHD 552) covers behavioral principles; anxiety, arousal, and intervention; All three courses are offered completely online, and students do not need to be enrolled in an MSU degree program. The eight-week courses begin Aug. 29 and run through Oct. 21. Enrollment is limited and early registration is encouraged. The instructor is Michael Meyers of MSU's Department of Health and Human Development. Meyers is also a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine; past president of the Texas regional chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine; and recognized on the Sport Psychology Registry, United States Olympic Committee. He has authored over 75 scientific journal publications, and has given over 350 regional, national and international presentations.
