By: Marsha Berenson, WOCNCB Marketing Manager “The WOCNCB was honored when invited to participate in the Let’s Get Certified Campaign and to support the commitment of these nurse specialists to serve our military, veterans, armed forces and their family members and survivors,” says Diana Gallagher, MS, RN, CWOCN, CFCN, CHT, and president of WOCNCB. “As we enter Phase IV of this campaign, we are even more honored to have “joined the ranks” with our VA and Department of Defense(DoD) To recognize the efforts of the Let’s Get Certified Campaign, the WOCNCB is offering a 30% exam fee discount. More information is available at www.wocncb.org/ The Let’s Get Certified Campaign began in June, 2008 as a way to promote, support, reward and recognize specialty nursing certification. The campaign is sponsored by the DVA’s Office of Nursing Services. Registered Nurses employed by the DVA or the Department of Defense (Army, Navy, Air Force and U.S. Public Health Corps) are eligible to participate. WOCNCB certified nurses provide quality care to patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home healthcare. Today, nearly 6,500 WOCNCB certified nurses are practicing in the United States, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. The WOCNCB’s wound, ostomy and continence certifications are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABNSC).
