Intel AppUp Center Signs as Major Partner of Trail Blazers Street Jam Basketball Tournament Benefiti

July 14, 2011 - PRLog -- PORTLAND, Ore. – Special Olympics Oregon is pleased to announce Intel AppUp center as a major partner of Trail Blazers Street Jam, Oregon’s premier 3-on-3 hoops tournament and free festival. Trail Blazers Street Jam will take place July 29-31, 2011 at the Rose Quarter in Portland.

“We’re excited to have the support of a major local business,” said Margaret Hunt, CEO of Special Olympics Oregon, the organization benefitting from the tournament. “Intel AppUp center has really stepped up as a member of our community.”

During Trail Blazers Street Jam Intel AppUp center will host live demonstrations of family-friendly apps and free onsite trials; Intel AppUp center will also give away two netbooks at the tournament.

Team registration is open online through July 25 at trailblazersstreetjam.com for all divisions. Division finalists will face-off on a court reconstructed from the Trail Blazers’ 1976-77 NBA Championship hardwood.

All Trail Blazers Street Jam participants will have the chance to win a $10,000 half-court shot and compete in a slam-dunk contest, hotshot contest and 3-point shootout. Trail Blazers Street Jam also features a clinic for kids and a free festival for players, fans and families offering music, games, merchandise, partner activities and food and drinks.  

Trail Blazers Street Jam is presented by Nike and Safeway; partners include Toyota, McDonald’s, The Standard, Rockstar, Verizon Wireless, Miller Paint and Spirit Mountain Casino.
