Follow on Google News | Stock Up For Your Next Cookout With SHAREThroughout the fall, cookout season will continue at its peak here in the Upper Midwest. With SHARE, a nonprofit food buying club open to everyone, savvy shoppers can find some excellent deals on food for their summer family gatherings.
By: Ben LeFort, SHARE Wisconsin Every month of the year, SHARE offers a selection of frozen meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned and dry goods, convenience items, organic produce and more. Members pick and choose the items they want for their family a la carte, or they can also select from two packages designed for medium- and smaller-sized households. SHARE’s August order form is offering several grill-friendly specials, including a 1.5-lb. ready-to-cook pork sirloin roast for $4.70, 1 lb. of jumbo Gwaltney brand franks for $1.75, and a package including four 5-oz. boneless pork chops and four 8-oz. boneless ribeye steaks for $16.00. There are over 200 SHARE food pick-up locations throughout Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, northern Illinois and northeastern Minnesota. Each of those locations is run by a crew of volunteers dedicated to serving their communities. In total, over 1,000 volunteers make SHARE’s low prices possible. SHARE distributes supermarket quality foods that are sourced on the wholesale market, just like a grocery store chain. None of the food is donated or government commodity. In addition to its dedicated volunteer workforce, SHARE’s volume purchasing power enables it to obtain outstanding prices for its members. SHARE is now accepting orders for pick-up in August. Families can order online at www.sharewi.org through August 14, or they can call toll-free 800-548-2124 to order through August 12. Pick-up will be held on Saturday, August 27 at most SHARE locations. SHARE’s online ordering system accepts debit and credit card payments, while the local volunteer team and main office can also accept cash, check, money order and Quest/Link/Bridge (food stamp) cards. # # # SHARE's nonprofit, volunteer-run food buying club helps families save 30-50% on supermarket quality food. Everyone is welcome. For over 25 years, SHARE volunteers have brought savings on food to hundreds of communities in the Upper Midwest. End
