Sundial Teamscapes Introduce Teambuilding Programme Designed to Help School Leavers Find Work

July 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Sundial Teamscapes, the teambuilding solutions specialists from the award-winning Sundial Group has launched an innovative educational teambuilding programme this week. The course gives an NVQ Level 2 equivalent qualification to participants and is designed to help smooth the transition from education to employment.

With a focus on developing valuable communication and transferable team skills, educational teambuilding activities and goals are totally flexible. The  learning by doing tasks are intended to prepare students for the world of work by equipping participants to better break the ice, problem solve, compromise, negotiate, present, recognise strengths, be creative and manage time effectively.  

Lucy McGibbon, Learning and Development Director at Sundial said, “The school year ends later this month, marking the arrival of a new generation into the workforce. According to studies conducted by the EU organization, Eurostat many will be lost to unemployment as Britain boasts one of the worst records on the continent for young people not in employment, education or training.  

“The Sundial Teamscapes Educational Teambuilding programme is an ideal response, allowing students to prove that they can integrate into a team, therefore increasing employability while encouraging personal development.”

Students can choose from a total of 20 indoor teambuilding, outdoor teambuilding and even culinary teambuilding activities. Teamscapes have already run a number of educational teambuilding days, including an event at a grammar school in Northamptonshire. There are no restrictions on group sizes so whole years or groups of classes can take part in some activities at the same time. For other activities, groups can be split into smaller sizes.

Sundial’s Learning and Development Director added, “With employers publicly questioning the value of traditional A-Level and GCSE qualifications, higher university tuition fees, a tough job market and increased competition for BTEC vocational courses, teens leaving school in the next few weeks need to take every opportunity to set themselves apart.”
