Ageless Media Nework and Access Design Group Collaborate on Disabled Vet Project Name Competition

After a month long competition, the winning title for Access Design Group LLC's Disabled Veterans Service Project was announced on July 4th via Facebook and Twitter. Millicent Pitts-DiCicco, Partner, Producer, and Business Mgr. for Ageless Media Network, which airs Ageless Radio on NewsRadio 1290 WTKS on Saturdays, 3pm Eastern submitted the winning entry "The Independence Project". Ms. Pitts-DiCicco states "I am impressed with your work on this project and in the community. The words Freedom and Independence kept circulating in my head. I have a mental picture of the increased independence your project will give a disabled vet----of course July 4th makes it a play on words." Ms. Pitts-DiCicco says she plans on donating the cash prize to Operation R&R in Hilton Head, who provide vacation facilities to military and their families while on leave from Iraq/Afghanistan.

The competition was developed to kick start Access Design Group LLC's interest in providing pro bono design services for Disabled Veterans by increasing accessibility and restoring independence through home modifications. The Independence Project is designed to be a free design/build service for a Disabled Veteran through the generous donations of building materials by local companies/organizations and constructed or built by local contractors.

Access Design Group LLC is a specialty design firm focusing on client-centered disability modifications, ADA accessibility, Aging in Place strategies and Universal Design solutions. Their purpose is to help Seniors and Baby Boomers prepare their homes to become their "Home for Life" by increasing safety, comfort and visit-ability.
