Historic Salem, Inc. Celebrates Summer on the Friendship

Join Historic Salem, Inc. aboard the Friendship of Salem on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. for its annual summer fundraiser.

July 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Join Historic Salem, Inc. aboard the Friendship of Salem on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. for its annual summer fundraiser.

Tickets are $50.00 for members of Historic Salem, Inc. and $65.00 for nonmembers. Tickets purchased on the day of the event are $65.00. Advance ticket purchases are suggested as space is limited and this event typically sells out. Tickets may be purchased online at www.HistoricSalem.org, by phone at 978-745-0799, or by visiting the headquarters located at 9 North Street.

On board, attendees will be able to sip a selection of wines courtesy of Market Wine and Spirits and Salem Wine Imports, sample cuisine from Salem’s finest purveyors, and bid high at the silent auction, which will feature a selection of prizes from local hotels, restaurants, cultural attractions, and retailers.

Historic Salem, Inc. would like to offer special thanks to the National Park Service for their assistance with this event. Donations for prizes and food have been secured from the following individuals and local businesses: the Boston Beer Company, Cabot Cheese, Café Grazziani, Café Polonia, Christmas in Salem, Fox’s Flowers, Historic Salem, Inc. president Darrow Lebovici and Meg Twohmy, the Hawthorne Hotel, Howling Wolf Taqueria, Historic New England’s Beauport and Spencer-Pierce-Little properties, Lindt Chocolates, the Lyceum, Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast, Not Without Merit, Inc., Narragansett Brewery, the Peabody Essex Museum, Penelope Neal Designs, Ryan and Wood Distilleries, the Salem Athenaeum, the Salem Ferry, the Salem Theatre Company, Salem State University’s Speaker Series, Shaw’s, Super Duck Tours, Trader Joe’s of Peabody, and the Witch’s Brew Cafe. This event will be dockside. In case of inclement weather, the Summer Sipping will be held at St. Joseph’s Hall on Derby Street. The event is handicapped accessible; though prior notice is requested to best fulfill the attendees needs. The National Park Service requires that visitors wear soft-soled footwear.
