Catch the Finnish Wave at the 28th Annual FinnFest Conference and Festival

July 11, 2011 - PRLog -- The 28th annual FinnFest Conference and Festival is an annual celebration that highlights contemporary Finland and celebrates the unique Finnish-American heritage. This year’s festival is scheduled for August 10-14, 2011 and offers an action-packed schedule of activities and cultural events. “FinnFest 2011 promises to be an exciting summertime event for Finnish-Americans as well as all residents and visitors to the San Diego region,” said Joe Terzi, president and CEO of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The schedule of activities includes diverse entertainment and cultural offerings, sports, authentic foods and more, guaranteeing every member of the family will have a good time.”

FinnFest offers five days of events spanning the spectrum of music, sports, art, film, education, family and business programs. Thousands of North American, local and international visitors are expected to attend the annual event.

A sampling of FinnFest 2011 highlights includes:

•   Music – FinnFest will showcase Finnish folk and traditional music;
•   Art – Exhibitions and lectures about different fields of Finnish art;
•   Film – Finnish film festival, showcasing contemporary Finnish cinema;
