July 8, 2011 - PRLog -- AllHipHop’s Steve Raze caught up with Tennessee rapper OG Boo Dirty in Miami for a personal interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNzBelWBtFg&feature=player_embedded), currently featured on AllHipHop’s “Breeding Ground Elite” web series. Breeding Ground features the hottest new talent in Hip-Hop before they hit mainstream success. Amongst the most notable elite’s are, Nicki Minaj, B.o.B., Maino, Travis Porter.

“200,000 YouTube views for 1 song in just 2 months is impressive, and the fact that OG Boo Dirty has several other videos that cumulatively amount to 1 million plays, with ZERO radio promotion or marketing is a story in it's self,” says Steve Raze of AllHipHop.   “OG’s buzz explains why there was a big media presence at his recent mixtape release event, I had the chance to attend and see his impact on fans.”

“He has songs with every major artist in his area and two lead singles with Yung Joc and Rocko, OG looks positioned to take over Memphis, which is why we had to feature him Breeding Ground Elite,”  Raze comments.

OG is showing audiences and critics that there is more to southern hip-hop outside of Atlanta. The South Memphis native has garnered a groundswell of support with his latest mixtape (April 2011,) The Story of OG Vol. 1 hosted by DJ Holiday (with 82,000 downloads).

His digital full length dropped on June 21, 2011 and is currently featured on the Itunes Hip-Hop “New Arrivals” for a 3rd consecutive week (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-story-of-og/id440324685). The album features notable cameos from Rocko, 8 Ball, Yung Joc, King Azz Star, Playa Fly, DJ Paul and Kia Shine.

The Story of OG unfolds like an autobiography, illustrating his triumphs and setbacks alike. While there are tracks about girls, guns, hustlin’ and cars, OG is also not afraid to get introspective. In “Pain” and “All I know” OG examines the devastating effects of living life in the fast lane and not being able to see beyond your block.. “It’s not all about shoot ‘em up, drug dealing,” says OG of his latest release. “It’s the real story of a real person--where I come from.” “I want people to know there are opportunities to get out of the ghetto. For me, music might just be that vehicle to reach bigger goals I never even dreamed of.”

OG's next live performance will be as a fellow headliner for Summer Jam 2011  along with Young Jeezy, Bobby Valentino, Yung Joc and more at Mud Island Amphitheater.

About Artist
Despite his newfound success, OG Boo Dirty’s career in music was completely happenstance. In 2008, the South Memphis, Tennessee native went from doing “all the stuff that’ll land you dead or in jail” and freestyling on the block to laying down a track in a recording studio on a whim. OG has been able to cultivate his fanbase and engage new followers all organically with direct to fan mixtapes and a diligent street team, something that in current music landscape is virtually impossible to do with no promotion or radio support. His YouTube views have reached over 900,000 views in just a few months. His first video, “All I Got” featuring King Azz Star generated 200,000 YouTube views upon release and solidified OG’s place in Memphis’ hip-hop scene. Even this early in his career OG is packing live performance venues in Memphis with crowds singing along to tracks like “Bands On Me” and “She’s A Freak.”

Although Memphis has spawned mainstream hip-hop artists like Three 6 Mafia, trying to move up through the ranks in a fragmented scene is a challenge, but one OG rose to. Growing up in a rough neighborhood prepared him for the struggles ahead. Instead of letting haters get to him, he channeled that negative energy into motivation to keep pushing forward with his craft.
