EEW Magazine Launches Nationwide Search for New Authors to Win Prestigious Book Award

July 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Empowering Everyday Women (EEW) Online Magazine, the nation’s leading web publication for Christian women of color has officially kicked off its nationwide search for first-time African American Christian women authors to be considered for its prestigious “Best Book of the Year” Award.  This special minority book program is the only one of its kind, designed to help launch new authors into the national spotlight with a major book endorsement from EEW Magazine. Book submissions are currently open through August 31 to new authors who have published books within the past 9-12 months. Heralded as an excellent partner in book promotion among the world’s largest and best known Christian publishers like Thomas Nelson, Zondervan, Moody, Whitaker House, Random House, and many more, Empowering Everyday Women is the preferred online media outlet to engage urban niche audiences and generate support for African American Christian authors.

Popular authors, entrepreneurs, and media personalities, Marshawn Evans (Skirts In the Boardroom) and Dr. Deana Murphy (Designing for the King),  are two former Best Book of the Year Award recipients that benefited tremendously from the broad exposure provided by EEW Magazine’s endorsement of their books.  

“There are so many Christian women of color who are truly gifted writers but their work never gets the exposure and support it deserves,” said Dianna Hobbs, Founder and Editor In Chief of EEW Magazine in an interview. When asked why more minority Christian writers fail to make their mark in the publishing world, Hobbs attributed the disparity to a number of things, primarily visibility. “I have to say there are lots of elements that go into successful book promotion, which is something I know firsthand through working with my amazing team at EEW Magazine that handles major book promotion campaigns for the top Christian publishers in the world. But if I had to zone in on one of the key factors determining the success of an author, I’d have to say that boils down to their ability to create awareness of their book. They have to be visible,” emphasized Hobbs.

That visibility is being facilitated through EEW Magazine’s awards and advertising programs, as well as feature stories, like the one Kim Cash Tate, author of successful novel, Faithful, enjoyed in the May 2011 issue (http://www.eewmagazine.com/KIM-CASH-TATE-EEW-MAGAZINE-FEA...). “We are honored that EEW is recognizing Kim and the power of her stories,” said Allen Arnold, Senior VP and Publisher of Fiction for Thomas Nelson.

Now EEW Magazine is using its current nationwide search to scout out the future Kim Cash Tates of the world, who have written powerful books worthy to be called the best book of the year. Final selections will be made in the fall of 2011.
