Barone focused on providing businesses with an overall marketing strategy of “High Tech – High Touch” which employs using the latest technology for communicating with gas industry and networking with gas workers as often as possible.  
The goal of the presentation was to give businesses a few sales and marketing tips which they could integrate in the everyday businesses.  Some of the tips dealt with the using text messaging to get the word to customers and prospects.  Many of the businesses in the seminar are not currently using text messaging and were encouraged to do so by Barone.  He also suggested that attendees should begin to look into Apps for smart phones since almost all the gas workers use smart phones to search for resources.
Other important tips focused on networking.  “Networking is hard for anyone,” commented Barone.  “Most of us are introverts so talking to strangers can be stressful.”      
The fast pace of the industry keeps everyone moving quickly.  Consequently, it’s hard to get someone’s attention which is the first step in making the sale. Barone left the audience with the last critical step to success which is relentless follow up.
