Follow on Google News | Michigan Chevrolet Dealers May Bring Transformers to Fans with Special Edition BumblebeeFor fans out there who love the Transformers movies or may just love the Camaro that embodies Bumblebee, Michigan Chevrolet dealers may see the special edition Transformers Camaro on their dealer lots soon.

After seven years on hiatus, the fifth-generation Camaro was reintroduced to the public with the first release of Transformers in 2007 and again in the second movie in 2009. “The Transformers franchise has helped introduce Camaro – and Chevrolet – to a whole new generation of fans,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing in a GM press release. “Its role in the films helped make the Camaro the best-selling sports car in America, and one of the best-known cars of any kind around the world.” The box office hits were enough to boost the popularity of the Camaro right back into the eyes of those fans. The different movies added something new to the fifth-generation’ • 2009: Yahoo!Autos named the Camaro as the most-searched- • 2010: The Camaro took the lead in U.S. sport cars over the Ford Mustang for the first time in 24 years. • 2011: Camaro is still leading the sport car segment with 40,275 units sold compared to 30,206 Mustang units. In 2012, Michigan Chevrolet dealers will see the introduction of a 550 horsepower Camaro called the ZL1 along with the limited-edition Transformers Special Edition model, which will be available for order this month and arriving at dealerships in September. Special features of the 2012 Transformers Special Edition, which may be added for an additional $3,000 package, include: • being available on the 2LT and 2SS Camaro Coupes, both with Rally Yellow paint • featuring black rally stripes that stretch over the hood, roof, decklid and unique high-wing rear spoiler • sporting 20-inch, black-painted wheels wrapped in high-performance summer tires • mounting Autobot Shield logos on the center caps and front quarter panels The interior is designed with black leather, accented with yellow stitching on the instrument panel, center console, armrests and seats. To add to the Autobot shields on the exterior, the logos are also embroidered on the front headrests and center console lid. Michigan Chevrolet dealers may not see the vehicle until September, but customers don’t need to wait to see Bumblebee as the newest Transformers movie has been officially released.
