Anna D. Banks Achieves Two Significant Milestones as Toastmaster

July 3, 2011 - PRLog -- [Union, NJ]--Toastmasters International announced today that Anna D. Banks has achieved both Competent Communicator and Competent Leader Awards.

“Becoming both a Competent Communicator and Competent Leader is a great achievement,” said Pamela Winter, DTM, Lieutenant Governor of Education and Training, for Toastmasters District 83 (http://toastmasters83.org/).  “It requires a certain level of mastery of both communication and leadership skills.  Anna can really be proud of these accomplishments.”

After completing the ten Competent Communication projects, a member is entitled to the Competent Communicator (CC) award, and may add the post-nominal CC to their name for Toastmasters purposes. Once achieving the CC, the Toastmaster then can go on to more advanced projects. There are 15 advanced manuals in the Toastmasters program, each consisting of five projects. These include projects on sales presentations, speaking to inform, speeches by management, interpretative reading, speaking on television, entertaining dinner speaking, communicating with news media, interpersonal communication, and others.

To achieve the Competent Leader (CL) award, Anna completed the required ten (10) Competent Leader projects.  She may now add the post-nominal CL to her name for Toastmasters purposes.   After earning the CL award the Toastmaster can further refine and develop his or her leadership skills by working in the advanced leader program. Members working in this program are eligible for Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB) and Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) recognition.

Club President, Gints Gulbis presented Anna with special pins to recognize the milestones.  Ms. Banks joined Toastmasters in 2010 and belongs to Toastmaster Club of Union (www.ToastmasterOfUnion.com)
