Even by the standards of Lebanon's painful history the assassination of Rafik Hariri was literally shattering.

July 1, 2011 - PRLog -- In fact such was the outcry that soon afterward the murder Syria was forced to pulled its troops out of Lebanon once and for all; something that's rankled the Syrians ever since. But when the United Nations came to set up its Special Tribunal for Lebanon to investigate the murder it didn't look at Syria. Instead it was looking at Lebanon's home grown resistance movement, Hezbollah. And late last year Lebanon was on a knife edge because people knew that the tribunal was close to naming its suspects in the murder and that those suspects would most likely be from Lebanon's own Hezbollah.Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah made his position very clear.

"Mistaken are those who think we will allow the arrest or the detention of any of our fighters," he said. "Any hand that will touch any of them will be cut off."Politics rarely gets more complex than it does in Lebanon. But this was Shakespearean. The Lebanese government last year was led by Sa'ad Hariri who was the son of the murdered prime minister. When Hezbollah demanded that he boycott the tribunal that was investigating his own father's assassination he refused and his government collapsed.

In the midst of the turmoil in the Middle East, Lebanon has been relatively quiet, until now. Six years after the assassination of prime minister Rafik Hariri a UN tribunal has issued arrest warrants for four suspects believed to have links to Hezbollah, the dominant military and political force in the country. It could hardly be a more volatile mix as Middle East correspondent Ben Knight reports.
Since then Hezbollah has become stronger than ever politically. It's the power behind the new Lebanese government. That same government has now got arrest warrants for four men who are believed to be members of Hezbollah, the patron of the prime minister. And it all puts that new prime minister Najib Mikati in an incredibly difficult position. And his response to the indictments was vague at best, http://www.featherhairextensionsus.com

The massive truck bomb killed not just the prime minister but 22 other people and it destroyed a huge area of the Beirut seafront. Immediately people in Lebanon pointed the finger next door at Syria; a country that had long had its own fingers in Lebanese affairs and its soldiers on Lebanese streets.
