Nottingham University Press Launches an eBook Program

June 30, 2011 - PRLog -- London - Nottingham University Press (NUP) launches its eBook program tomorrow using an eContent hosting platform developed by MPS Limited, a Macmillan company. The university press's eBook program starts with 16 selected titles.

NUP launched the program to increase the range of formats in which their customers can read their books. By making the eBooks available to buy directly from their website, the press hopes to further strengthen their relationship with their readers, who will not need to go to a third party retailer to make their purchases. NUP plans to create EPUB versions of the eBooks later in the year, once the new EPUB 3 standard has been finalized.

The books are hosted on a customized version of MPS's easy-to-use eContent platform which allows readers to browse and search inside the book before purchasing. The platform also enables NUP to promote their books using widgets and social media, a vital channel in today's connected world.
