Sierra Guitars Supports Orange Amps’ “Music Aid for Joplin” Auction

June 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Charleston, SC, June 21, 2011 – Sierra Guitars is thrilled to participate in Orange Amplifiers’ Tornado Victims Fund-raising “Music Aid for Joplin” auction by donating a  SA28CE Sierra Sunrise Auditorium guitar and bag.

The auction, arranged by Orange Amplifiers, is designed to help those affected by the worst tornado season in more than fifty years. 153 people have been killed in Joplin, Missouri – home of the Glory Days Music Store – and half the town was destroyed including Glory Days Music itself and the owner’s home. David Peterson, owner of Glory Days Music Store, said, “on hearing about Orange’s plans to raise proceeds through an auction, I was just floored. I didn’t think for one minute that someone would do something like that for me without asking for it. It’s an incredible gesture.”

The “Music Aid for Joplin’” auction consists of some very special musical equipment from Orange Amps like a  Union Jack half-stack worth at least $6000, as well as a Sierra Guitar, and generous donations from other musical instrument manufacturers and suppliers including Sabian Cymbals and Yamaha. The auction will be held in collaboration with Ted Owen of the Fame Bureau auction house, who is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in music equipment and memorabilia. The online auction will begin July 18th, and the live auction commences on August 24th. Live auction bidders are chosen from the top bidders over the course of the month-long period the auction is live on FameBureau.com. The money raised will help the re-establishment of the Glory Days Music Store
