Geoff Black, Prudential Financial’s High Tech Investigations Director, Joins ACEDS Advisory Board
Geoff Black, Director of High Tech Investigations at Prudential Financial in New York, has joined the ACEDS Advisory Board.
June 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Miami – Geoff Black, Director of High Tech Investigations at Prudential Financial in New York, has joined the ACEDS Advisory Board. He joins a diverse, select group of 17 experts from various fields who are e-discovery practitioners or lend a unique expertise and background toward guiding ACEDS.
Black leads a diverse unit of e-discovery and digital forensics experts at Prudential. He supervises collection and processing efforts, develops electronic discovery policy, consults with internal and external counsel as a subject matter specialist, and presides over digital investigations. He is also a recognized expert on using statistical validation techniques in e-discovery. Prior to joining Prudential, Black worked with AmLaw 100 firms and Fortune 1000 companies as a principal with a software service provider overseeing collection, processing, and compliance efforts of data custodians.

Black began his career managing the Louisiana Department of Justice’s computer forensics team, followed by service as a computer forensics examiner at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Cyber Division.
ACEDS Advisory Board includes diverse, seasoned experts
Black joins a diverse group of experts on the ACEDS Advisory Board, including former American Bar Association president, Martha Barnett, who is chief privacy officer at TLO; Hogan Lovells partner Alvin Lindsay, CEDS, an expert on cross-border e-discovery;
ACEDS is a membership organization for persons in law, litigation support, technology and records management who face e-discovery in their work responsibilities. ACEDS extends the Certified E-discovery Specialist (CEDS) credential to candidates who pass a rigorous, proctored examination that is administered at some 600 ACEDS-Kryterion Testing Centers worldwide. ACEDS also offers training, specialized information and community-building to its members.
