Mazda Impresses on J.D. Power & Associates’ 2011 Initial Quality Study

June 27, 2011 - PRLog -- For the first time ever and with an all-time personal best score - Mazda finished this year’s J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) Mazda study in second place.

The IQS uses first-hand information from Mazda drivers and new Mazda owners.  Mazda owners were asked to rank their vehicle based on ownership experience and perceived quality of their vehicle.  Clearly Mazda drivers were very pleased with their vehicles.

Not only was Mazda ranked 2nd for non-premium brands but it was ranked 5th overall, even when compared with luxury vehicles. With a 12 percent initial quality improvement, every Mazda vehicle improved in 2011 over their previous model year – 3 percent more than industry standard for this model year.
