June 26, 2011 - PRLog -- In this fast paced high-tech society, we have lost passion for the simple things in life.

There used to be a time when spending quality with loved ones was not an option and tradition was enough for one’s desire. Thanks to a woman who has a passion to educate, a love for culture, and filled with dynamism we have a chance to enjoy the greatest things life has to offer by educating children and youth in cultural awareness, history, geography, and resurrecting the tradition of storytelling.

Tokunbo Ifaturoti, the mastermind behind the highly acclaimed children’s variety TV programme “Time Out with Auntie Toks” which airs Saturday mornings in London, has the ultimate renaissance program for children. Though her non-for-profit organisation, The Lighthouse Children’s Workshop Productions, Ifaturoti provides “resources to parents and educators so they may foster an understanding of various world cultures through storytelling, arts, and play.” The organisation gives children the opportunity to learn about history, geography, culture, literacy, and community through various activities. The activities include but not limited to arts and crafts, outdoor activities, drumming and dancing, and storytelling.  Her workshops also include authors making guest appearances such as K. N. Chimbiri the author of, "Step Back In Time To Ancient Kush."

Tokunbo's passion is to see "an alternative form of education" made available to all children as she strongly believes that every child, truly matters!
