Text Marketing For Restaurants
June 24, 2011
-- A full service text marketing (SMS) company, TextAdvance focuses on the 95% of consumers who have a cell phone. Like IHOP, Pizza Hut, and many other companies, text messaging is fast becoming the preferred means to both communicate and advertise to consumers, past, present, and future.
Indeed, over 95% of text messages are opened within the first 15 minutes, and, it is reported, approximately 73% of mobile phone users actually prefer getting offers and coupons on their smart phones, while the overwhelming majority of emails ads get thrown into the spam folder never to be seen.
TextAdvance has been a leader in the fast growing SMS (Short Message Service ) text marketing industry. Spokesperson Linda Ayers recently told CBS news that most of their new clients have never even considered text marketing before being introduced to its effectiveness. One such client, Jefferey Owens, a restaurant owner, stated that until he actually saw a “table tent” display promoting a competitor's text coupon, the thought of promoting one himself never crossed his mind.
Owens stated, “After TextAdvance set us up, I was a little skeptical how much business this cell phone stuff could really do... I mean I always equated texting with teenagers and Facebook, that sort of thing. But Michael convinced me to give it a shot using a free desert as an incentive. To my surprise almost 200 people signed up the very first day! And by the first week we had over 1200 customers on our list.”
Owens continued, “Now when we have a slow night, all I have to do is text out a special offer or discount of some sort and a literal mass of people will fill up our tables. In my 23 years in the restaurant business I have never seen anything like it.”
TextAdvance attributes much of their success on customer service and keeping their rates competitive.
