June 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota shoppers may have been following the Prius family as it has expanded quickly the past few years with new models and new additions added to the lineup. The economic and fuel efficiency that the Prius offers consumers is unmatched by most hybrid models in production today.
With the Prius being such an important part of the move to greener vehicles, Toyota Motor Corp may be seeing the Prius lineup moving into the forefront of the company. Where the Corolla and Camry were once the leaders for Toyota, the Prius and its expanding family seem to be the future leaders.
Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota customers may have heard Toyota executives state, at a Prius event in Ypsilanti, Mich., this week, that the company believes there will be a day that Prii models will outsell Camry at its top-selling vehicle. This seems very possible especially with the strong growth and timeline of the Prius family as the Prius lineup will soon have four members.
Even with the success of the Prius models to this point, the Camry is still way ahead. The Camry was named the Best-Selling Car for 2010 with 327,804 units sold. This number compared to the 140,928 Prii sold in the same year. Uni29cor

But analysts like IHS Automotive analyst Aaron Bragman has said that Toyota’s thoughts of the Prius taking the lead is very realistic as automakers have more fuel economy standards to adhere to by 2016.
Customers such as those at Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota should be excited to see so many choices of Prius models especially with the mpg being between 50 mpg (Prius third generation) and 75 mpg (Prius Plug-in).
