The stellar summer/fall lineup is unique and features a super blend of blues, folk, rock and comedy, showcasing many internationally known artists, in a location easily accessed from Massachusetts’ Routes 495, 128 and 2/2A.  The on-site parking is extensive and FREE and the venue is wheelchair accessible.

The New Bull Run is located at 215 Great Road, in the historic country town of Shirley, Massachusetts, about one hour northwest of Boston.  For full information and reservations, go to: www.bullrunrestaurant.com or call:  978-424-4311 or 877-536-7190.  Tickets to all Sawtelle Room and Ballroom shows can also be purchased on line at: www.bullrunrestaurant.com or by calling: 877-536-7190.

The venue also offers excellent dining with menus created by Chef Judith Basso.  In keeping with the Bull Run’s Run’s common sense mission of providing healthy, fresh food and supporting small family farms and the local economy, Judith has forged strong ties with farmers and producers throughout Central Massachusetts.

July 2011 Concert Lineup:

Appearing on stage with a stool, a microphone and a can of Diet Pepsi, comedienne extraordinaire Paula Poundstone is famous for her razor-sharp wit and spontaneity.  Poundstone appears Friday, July 8 at 8 PM; tickets are $40.00.

Sunday, July 10 will feature the Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn who is best known for his release “Walking in Memphis.”  Cohn combines the precision of a brilliant tunesmith with the passion of a great soul man.  “Mr. Cohn-- has a smoky, artfully strained singing voice . . .” noted Nate Chinen of the New York Times in his review of Cohn’s 2010 release, Listening Booth: 1970.   Tickets are $45.00 for this show at 8:00 PM.  Video here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VA7Le6tfxs

Lil Ed Williams is an awe-inspiring master bluesman.  Lil’ Ed boasts a direct bloodline to blues history—his uncle and musical mentor was the great Chicago slide guitarist, songwriter and recording artist J.B. Hutto. According to The Chicago Tribune, “Williams represents one of the few remaining authentic links to the raucous, pure Chicago blues.”  Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials perform at Bull Run Friday, July 15 at 8:00 PM; tickets are $16.00.

The Dixie Bee-Liners are an American Bluegrass group, formed in New York City in 2002 by Buddy Woodward and Brandi Hart.  Their music has been called Bluegrass, Americana, alt-country, folk, and “Bible Belt Noir.”  The band's current line-up features: Brandi Hart (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, fiddle, mountain dulcimer), Buddy Woodward (lead vocals, mandolin, acoustic guitar, banjo, bass, harmonica, high-strung guitar, percussion), Sara Needham (fiddle, vocals), Saravanan "Sav" Sankaran (vocals, upright bass), Zachary Mongan (banjo), and Leah Needham (dobro, vocals).  They appears in the Bull Run Ballroom Saturday, July 16, at 8:00 PM; tickets are $14.00.

Since she first stepped on stage at the Comedy Store in the ‘70s, Sandra Bernhard has been challenging fans and critics with her outrageous humor, keen satire and rollicking stage shows. “Give the dame her due,” writes the New York Times, “It's invigorating to be in the presence of a true original.”  Bernhard hits the Bull Run stage on Saturday, July 16 in the Sawtelle Room, at 8:00 PM; tickets are $36.00.

One of American folk music's most prolific and profound singer/songwriters of the past three decades, Greg Brown has earned respect from his peers and a far-flung, passionately-devoted fan-base via a burnished, intimate baritone, a seemingly effortless gift for swinging, organic melody and--perhaps most of all--a humble, unvarnished poetic grace that can imbue even the most mundane, everyday human endeavors and emotions with quiet dignity, startling insight and gently twisted humor.  Brown appears Friday, July 22 at 8:00 PM; tickets are $32.00.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist/humorist Cheryl Wheeler comes to Bull Run on Friday, July 29 at 8:00 PM; tickets are $20.00.  “Cheryl Wheeler is an anomaly on the acoustic music scene. She has a rare gift for writing songs with lush melodies and lyrics of incredible beauty.  On the other hand, she is a master of quick wit.  Her observational humor has brought us a number of songs describing the utter ridiculousness of the world around us.  And then there is the richness of her silky alto telling us what lies in the deepest recesses of her songwriter's heart.” states Fame Magazine.

Referred to by the New York Times as “a post modern Muddy Waters,” Popa Chubby, takes the stage Saturday, July 30 at 8:00 PM at Bull Run; tickets are $18.00.  An electric blues singer, songwriter and guitarist, Chubby won a national blues talent search sponsored by KLON in 1992.  As “New Artist of the Year” Chubby’s career was launched.
