Independent Museum Beats Illustrious Competition to Claim Chiltern Railways Attraction of the Year

June 21, 2011 - PRLog -- The Falstaff Experience Tudor World has beaten off illustrious competition to claim the Chiltern Railways Attraction of the Year Award. The independent museum receives no funding and is owned and run by husband and wife team, John and Janet Ford. The Fords took over the Falstaff Experience in 2007 and since taking over have re-invented the museum by creating Tudor World. Their ownership of the museum has preserved the historic Shrieve's House, an important part of the history and architecture of Stratford. The museum delights visitors young and old alike and unlike many museums opens in the evenings. By day visitors enjoy Tudor World, the exhibits recreating the sights, sounds and smells of Tudor England. By night the museum comes alive. The building described by Horrible Histories author Terry Deary as the most haunted in England hosts Lantern Lit Ghost Tours every night of the week. In 2004 the museum was featured on 'Most Haunted Live'. The museum also offers a unique range of events and a comprehensive education package. A keen subscriber to the 'Kids In Museums' Manifesto the Falstaff Experience is always keen to engage visitors with history and relies on its huge cast of characters to bring the museum to life.
