June 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Just how far will an honest man go during difficult times to help his family survive? The stunning tour de force River Ice is set during the Great Depression.

Lewis Seagrove struggles to provide for his wife and three children. Living along the Ohio River, he takes a small row boat at night across the 1,500-foot-wide expanse to steal vegetables from gardens on the Kentucky side. He climbs onto moving railroad cars to gather coal. But when his 12-year-old daughter unwittingly becomes involved with a pornographer – and the man later turns up dead – Lewis becomes the prime suspect in the murder. A district attorney looking for an easy win to ensure re-election figures he can easily put Lewis away, regardless of his guilt.

The powerful novel River Ice tells a tale of prejudice and survival against all odds.
