June 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Prices for many staples are on the rise—most notably for food. That makes now the perfect time to join roughly 8,000 families who stretch their food budgets with SHARE, a nonprofit food buying club open to everyone. What’s great about SHARE is that families can pick and choose the foods that work for them—all at a savings of approximately 30-50% compared to typical supermarket prices.

Every month of the year, SHARE offers a selection of frozen meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned and dry goods, convenience items, organic produce and more. Members pick and choose the items they want for their family a la carte, or they can select from two assortments tailored for medium- and smaller-sized households.

The July SHARE order form features a number of spectacular deals on quality foods, including split chicken breast (1.8 lbs.) for $2.95, ground turkey (1 lb.) for $2.20, an organic produce assortment (10+ lbs.) for $15.00, a mixed steak box (3 lbs.) for $17.00, ground coffee (2 lbs.) for $8.50, and much more.

SHARE is a nonprofit organization that’s been helping families save 30-50% on groceries for over 25 years. There are no income limits or eligibility guidelines to purchase food through SHARE. Families place orders at the beginning of the month and pick their food up at a location near them toward the end of the month.

There are over 200 SHARE food pick-up locations throughout Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, northern Illinois and northeastern Minnesota. Each of those locations is run by a crew of volunteers dedicated to serving their communities. In total, over 1,000 volunteers make SHARE’s low prices possible.

SHARE distributes supermarket quality foods that are sourced on the wholesale market, just like a grocery store chain. None of the food is donated or government commodity. In addition to its dedicated volunteer workforce, SHARE’s volume purchasing power enables it to obtain outstanding prices for its members.

SHARE is now accepting orders for pick-up in July. Families can order online at www.sharewi.org through July 10, or they can call toll-free 800-548-2124 to order through July 8. Pick-up will be held on Saturday, July 23 at most SHARE sites.

SHARE’s online ordering system accepts debit and credit card payments, while the main office can also accept cash, check, money order and Quest/Link/Bridge (food stamp) cards.
